OUR STORY
Where It All Began
My name is Lisa Lundie and I look forward to getting to know you and your little one(s).So here’s my story so far…Having successfully completed a BA Honours Degree in Drama and Theatre Studies followed by a PGCE in Drama and Contextual Studies, I embarked upon a 15 year teaching career. During this time, I taught Drama and Theatre Studies from Early Years Foundation Stage all the way to GCSE and A - Level, as well as being a Head of Year. I then had a long and challenging IVF journey which resulted in me becoming a Mummy to Gabrielle in January 2022.Together, Gabrielle and I attended lots of baby classes consisting of the usual sensory, yoga, massage etc and for me there was a very noticeable need for something new and innovative. I had a Eureka moment over a glass of Prosecco with friends, which ignited the first Let's Pretend flame. I soon had a clear vision of a place that inspired imagination from birth, transporting children on an exciting pathway though Literacy, Music, Drama and Dance. It was important to me that families can join together in a warm and friendly environment (Grown ups can pretend too!)
I then wanted to provide children with the opportunity to continue the Let's Pretend experience with the introduction of Primary Drama Classes. My vision here was of a fully inclusive provision that encourages self belief alongside the development of performance skills. Every child is different, so supporting individual growth is of paramount importance to me.
The Primary Drama Classes are incredibly popular, from which demand grew to provide opportunities for all age groups. This lead to the launch of Senior Drama Classes. Here I am able to enrich KS3 learning and support GCSE and A - Level students with their studies. However, no previous experience is required, with no pressure to perform until individuals feel ready. These classes are for the whole community, with no age limit!
With this, my one woman vision of fully inclusive Drama for all is complete.
Thank you for making my dream a reality and welcome to Next STAGE Performing Arts.
